From his Autobiography -

This whole world's a massive dream;
life of rebellious human insects
which eat, sleep, create ruckus and die
inside that, is a dream within a dream.

A dream within a dream - reminds me of Edgar alan poe's lines

"All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream. "

    Was he inspired by Poe?

  2. Chenthil,
    Good job.

    Arvind,
Yeah,it could have been an inspiration.
But i was surprised by the similarities in their lives.
-Both died young.Poe(40) and Bharathi(39).And they were mysterious deaths.
-Both lost their parents at an early age.
    -Both were editors by profession.
-And most important of all, both were rebellious.

But i doubt whether Bharathi would categorize Poe as a poet considering his definition..
